The Villages of St. Mawes and The Roseland peninsula

St. Mawes

St Mawes is an old Cornish Fishing Village; it still maintains its charm and beauty and is considered a real jewel in the Cornish Riveria, we are lucky to enjoy a very mild climate.
We have a lovely selection of shops, you can get a great crab sandwich or a local Cornish pasty.

There are many beautiful walks and beaches in the area.

Towan Beach

St Mawes Beaches, Idle Rocks, Summers, Tavern, Castle are great for sailing, sunbathing, rock pooling, crabbing and fishing. We have a regular bus service to Truro and the passenger ferry to Falmouth. click here to find out more

St Just in Roseland Church

Beautiful walks starting from St Mawes Castle (10 min walk from Little Newton) along the fields to the historical St Just in Roseland Church. Take time to explore the sub tropical gardens in the grounds of the Church and then follow the river path along to Messack, this is a good 2 hour walk but it well worth it for the coastal and river views.

St Antonys Head and beaches are only a 20 minute drive away to the neighbouring villages of Portscatho and Gerrans, follow the road to St Antony and you have a choice of coastal and riverside walks.

Watersports play a huge part in and around St Mawes, we have sailing and watersports schools, a Sailing Club, kayak hire and fishing trips. Falmouth then opens its doors to deep sea diving trips, deep sea fishing and wildlife spotting boat trips. We can help with further info
